Forged Fingerprint on Alleged Jackson Pollock Painting?
Veteran fingerprint examiner Thomas Hanley's final supplementary report of his findings regarding fingerprints used by Montreal art restorer Peter Paul Biro is now available in its entirety on the Fine Art Registry™ website. Chief Hanley and two other certified latent print examiners, Mr. Pat Wertheim (specializing in fraudulent fingerprints) and Mr. Larry Rooney, attempt to determine how a suspicious print came to be on the back of an alleged Jackson Pollock painting. In this fascinating report, follow the detailed examination step by step as Chief Hanley determines whether or not the print could have been forged. Read the full report here and watch the video. Lab tests we had performed also cast further doubt on the validity of the print found by Biro. And stay tuned for Mr. Wertheim's upcoming report.
